Monday 7/2/12: Black Breath // Martyrdod // Burning Love // Enabler // Dead in the Dirt

Kings Barcade, $10, 7:00PM, all ages

If you are looking for the show of the season, this is definitely the one. Black Breath is one of those bands that never cease to be thoroughly incredible. Reminds me if the guys from Darkthrone and Sepultura got together and started a hardcore punk band in the thrash era. Martyrdod is a band that has been sitting on my record player for a few months now, and wow, their In Extremis LP is one of the best records I've heard in a while. It's as if Totalitar got together and attempted to play black metal. Burning Love from Toronto draw in members of Left for Dead, Cursed, and The Swarm to start something that sounds nothing like any of those bands, which turns into a sound reminiscent of Hot Snakes or Cloak/Dagger. Very interesting. Dead in the Dirt is the secret weapon of the show, playing grindcore the way it should be done, and Enabler is not to be missed for all you people, like myself, who like metal and hardcore blended, yet really hate metalcore.

Upcoming hardcore shows JUNE 2012

Hey guys, Ira here! I'm hanging out in Austin, Texas for Chaos in Tejas. About to see Nasum's last show ever and Reality Crisis from Japan tonight. Later, Forward plays at 2am. I saw them walking down the street and all I could think was,"Holy shit! Two of you guys were in Death Side!"
It smells like human punks who don't shower, but there is a cool vegan truck. Also to note, the good sushi, everything opens at 10pm, and there is a death metal pizza place that serves pizza that looks 3 days old.

From afar, I want to give all of you a heads up about the upcoming shows I've got in Raleigh. I'm trying my best to make Raleigh as chaotic as possible with a lot of hardcore shows, and I hope all of you will tell your friends about it so that maybe we can pack some of these gigs out. If you're not able to make it out to this fest, do what you can to make your hometown shows just as outrageous! Tell all of your friends about these shows.

Infección Demo OUT NOW on DEMOlish

DEMOlish's fourth release is really something special.  Entitled "Tanto Sexo, Tanta Gonnorea", this demo tape is the first release from Raleigh's newest killer band.  Infección features members from many other great North Carolina punk/hardcore bands, including Brain F≠, Whatever Brains, Logic Problem, Devour, Double Negative, and a whole slew of others.

Originally inspired by the tough yet catchy sound of newer Spanish punk bands like Sudor and Silla Electrica, Infección's sound quickly grew to incorporate numerous other influences, including full-bore noisy hardcore, big melodic punk a la Naked Raygun, and even a little 60s garage stomp. Seven originals, all distinctly different from one another, and a Kinks cover.

You can listen to and download the demo here:  DEMOlish Bandcamp

To buy the actual demo tape, go here: BUY THE TAPE

Dubbed on cool orange tapes with hand-screened j-cards.

Get 'em while you can. These are already going fast!

DEMOlish finally has a webstore!

DEMOlish, the demo tape label I've been working on, finally has a place for people to purchase releases and whatever other distro stuff that comes my way.

Here's the link: demolish.storenvy.com

Also, here's the bandcamp page once again for anyone who still hasn't heard the releases yet: http://demo-lish.bandcamp.com/

Hope everyone digs these jamz.  Also, definitely keep a look out for the debut release from Raleigh's latest killer band Infección on DEMOlish really soon, featuring members of Devour, Brain F≠, Double Negative, Whatever Brains, and a lot of other killer Raleigh bands.  It's going to be really awesome.

Thanks for the support,

-Jeff
